Not all inspiration is applicable to real life.
We see incredible bathrooms on Pinterest, perfect kitchens on Instagram, living rooms that look like they're straight out of movies… and we get that urge to copy everything for our own homes.
But there's a detail that nobody talks about: the images come from realities different from our own.
In the United States, for example:
The bathroom doesn't have a drain.
Wooden flooring inside the bathroom is common.
– Cleaning isn't like we do in Brazil, a combination of bleach, bucket, broom, mop and other products... We clean the bathroom, the soul and much more.
In Europe, it's common to have the washing machine next to the sink/stove, and bathrooms still use bidets.
Air conditioning is not common, but heating is, although it is expensive.
And so it goes...
The same applies to kitchens, closets, and bedrooms:
Many images were made for another culture, another climate, another type of use.
And that doesn't mean we can't be inspired.
It means we need to adapt .
And knowing how to adapt.
The essence of style, yes.
The material, often, is not.
The aesthetics, of course.
The way it works, always adapted to our reality.
Because beautiful decor is easy to find.
But a house that works for our way of life — that's planning, context, and truth.
Ultimately, inspiration is the starting point.
Home is the destination.
Live life to your own, always.
