Do you also have that feeling when you finally do something for yourself and you feel guilty? You're not the only one. I go through this too, and unfortunately it has become something “normal.” We are so used to having to do and do things, especially when it comes to taking care of those we love, that when we finally take some time for ourselves, we have this feeling that we are committing a crime.

I can tell you from the perspective of a health coach, even from a person who has suffered a lot from this, that our body feels when we love each other, when we hate each other, when we get along and don't give ourselves a break for him to breathe. What we need to remember whenever possible is to have a “line” in mind, from 0-10, and then ask ourselves: “From 0-10, how hard did I try on this task, and from 0-10, how much did I try? How much have I taken care of myself today?”

When I say “taking care of yourself,” it’s not just about doing your skincare routine, applying good creams, and having a cup of coffee in the afternoon. It's also about wearing an outfit that makes you feel wonderful, without thinking that you have to wear it for a special occasion, when 5 pm arrives, you no longer look at your emails, for example. It's also asking yourself if you're really okay, if you're happy where you are. Taking care means recognizing your feelings of “sadness” and studying a way to face this specific situation in your life.

Imagine yourself in the following situation: If your best friend told you what his routine has been like, the problems he has been going through, and asked you for advice, what would you tell him? The same works for you. Talk to yourself, without judgement, without fear, but with as much affection and attention as you would have for your friend.

Start trying to find a balance between areas of your life and your mental and physical health. It's important to always try to do one small activity or other action for yourself each day. For example, if you don't do anything for yourself, then the idea of taking care of your skin, for example, getting your nails done, or putting on shoes that you like most for work, is very interesting. Write down the little things you have done for yourself. It could be eating something healthier, and then getting a dessert that you like more, trying to rest earlier, watching or reading something you like, even if it's just for ten minutes, playing a sport that you think is cool. Trust me, you will feel much better, and at the same time, you will be giving yourself the right to take care of and love yourself.

You deserve this and much more.

So, when was the last time you did something for yourself?
